Make a Difference. Every Day.

Are you a driven, proactive, and enthusiastic person who easily builds trusting relationships? Then you should not hesitate to apply for the role of nursing assistant or pediatric nurse with us at the Children's Heart Center in Lund!

Skåne University Hospital (Sus) is one of two hospitals in Sweden that provides national specialized care (NHV) in pediatric cardiac surgery, which means that children and adolescents aged 0 to 18 from large parts of the country come to us at the Children's Heart Center. We take genuine pride in having the opportunity to help these children and meet them based on their individual needs. Often, we follow children over a longer period, from when they are operated on until they become adults. The Children's Heart Center includes inpatient wards, day care services, and outpatient clinics in Lund and Malmö. The facility also conducts research in medicine and health sciences. The Children's Heart Center is an important part of the national specialized care in pediatric cardiac surgery and has a close collaboration with, especially, the pediatric intensive care unit (BIVA) and pediatric surgery.

The department in Lund receives children and adolescents from the southern and central regions of Sweden as well as from Iceland. The majority of our patients are younger and small children with various types of heart defects. Our operations are both planned and acute, and we primarily work with pre- and post-operative care. Additionally, we care for children and adolescents with acquired heart and arrhythmia diseases as well as heart failure, who undergo heart transplantation, pre- and post-operatively, and who are treated with a ventricular assist device. For children who need extra monitoring, there are two intermediate care places available. With us, research nurses, contact nurses, transplantation nurses, and catheterization responsible nurses work together with other professional categories to develop the operations.

In our outpatient and day care services, children and adolescents come for examinations for various heart diseases or for follow-up after having been treated for heart defects. In the larger outpatient clinic in Lund, both pediatric nurses and doctors work. In Malmö, there is a pediatric cardiology clinic staffed by a pediatric nurse and a doctor.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you a nursing assistant or pediatric nurse who wants to work with children in an exciting and varied job? Then this is the right place for you!

The expertise we possess is truly unique, especially considering our mission for NHV. Working with NHV is not only exciting but also developing and educational, especially when we get to help children and their families. With us, you will work both independently and in teams, where you are welcome to work transprofessionally and child-centered, with parents as a natural part of the team around the child. We have a pedagogical approach that is age-appropriate, creating participation and security for our patients. Furthermore, we offer you a fun and varied job where every day is unique, and you work alongside engaged and competent colleagues.

We continuously conduct operational development through various focus groups in which you have the opportunity to participate when you feel ready. With us, we are constantly working to develop the nursing assistant role, and there is experienced support in daily operations as well as a clinical coach who helps you both theoretically and practically to gain clinical skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant, preferably with a focus on children or healthcare/emergency care, or a trained pediatric nurse.
